Satisfy everyone.
@Tigertron
I guess having dedicated servers is a pretty good incentive. The other stuff doesn't sell me, though.
Um, I really don't get why people are so excited about being sold games they already own. I'd be excited if I didn't own those Halo games but most people that had an Xbox 360 already own them.
It's a marketing scam, IMO. We'll sell you stuff you already own but it's "shiny" and all together.
PS3 got 1 game? Not happy.
At this point HL3 cannot live up to all the hype and built up anticipation. Valve waited WAY too long. I'm not saying they shouldn't make it but there are going to be some disappointed people when it's released. People are expecting it to be the greatest game ever made.
Maybe it applies to the game devs?
...until your legs fall asleep.
If there's lag compensation then I really don't care about these MS servers.
There's lag compensation.
I forgot about Brink but I guess I'm really talking about the parkour WITH the jet packs. The jet packs make the parkour so much more functional and really opens up the maps.
Wasn't a fan of the beta, so no. The only innovative thing about the game is adding parkour to shooting. That part is VERY fun and unique. The rest is what I have an issue with. I hate the bots, the Titans are not very fun to pilot(Hawken is MUCH better for mech battles), not enough game types, games are too short, it uses lag compensation(one of the biggest issues I have with the game), and the guns are VERY generic. This game is supposed to be set in the future and it still uses th...
Stop using lag compensation and/or P2P.
Some sellers realize this and now offer a return policy. I know EA(of all companies) and GOG will allow you to return a game within a certain amount of time if it doesn't work or it's crap.
I'm still waiting on Steam to offer something like this.
I'm pretty sure Titanfall has lag compensation. I've seen it first hand. It's either that or issues with the net code or servers. Others have said they've noticed it as well.
Also, if they would just let people buy their own game servers and host their own REAL dedicated servers, the server hosts can place ping restrictions that would automatically kick anyone with a ping over a set amount.
It's fun but it gets old pretty quickly, IMO. I also dislike the bots and limited human players. I reserved judgement to give Respawn the benefit of the doubt but now that I've played it, I feel the game would be much better without the bots and 2 or 4 more human players. They'd probably have to balance it a little more(mainly with the number of titans at one time) but I feel they could have done it. I just get the feeling they limited the number of real players for other reas...
I enjoy the game but I agree, the AI bots have to go. I have no idea what they add. Titans are already very easy to get so you don't need them for cannon fodder to get the titan quicker. If they're there for bad players then I'd argue that R.E. went too far trying to appease the bad players. There are too many of them and they do nothing. They're just in the way. I'm actually surprised when I finally find a real player.
I withheld judgment on the AI bots until I played and now I can say that I don't like them at all. I'd rather have 8v8 or 10v10 all humans and ZERO bots. They're just annoying and don't add anything for me, IMO. R.E. should at least add a gametype that allows for more humans and no bots.
When they first announced the player count, I was one who didn't really think much of it. Some games play better with fewer people. I don't really care that it's 6v6. What I don't get is the reason to have AI bots that are borderline retarded. It just feels like they're throwing them in there to fill the map without having it use up bandwidth/resources/etc.
Don't you get mechs for getting points? Don't you get points for killing grunts(among o...
The more video I see of the "grunts", the more I hate the fact that it's only 6 vs 6. This was one of my most anticipated game releases but the recent videos have me worried. I'll wait till I've played it or it's released to make a final judgement but Respawn are doing a poor job explaining why the use of grunts is a better option than just increasing the player count.
Nothing in that article made me feel better about this situation. In fact, it made it worse by saying they'd be surprised if the USSC overturned it. Tell me how the FCC will be able to wrangle the ISP's "without overstepping their bounds" and then I might feel a little better but I don't think anyone will explain how that's possible because I don't think the FCC will be able to do it.
Except for immersion. I'm not sure I want to imagine myself as a lesbian saving the princess that I love. I'm sure that'd be great for some demographics but it's not something I particularly want. Perhaps having Link androgenous allows Nintendo to cover all the bases by allowing people to decided for themselves? Whatever gender you choose, gender does make a difference with regards to immersion, IMO.
